March 10-14, 2025
9:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Honeybee homestead
MCDONALDS CORNERS, ON
March Break camps have historically been snowy - where winter meets spring!
Outdoor exploration, fort building, games, artistic expression, and creative play fill the days.
Surrounded by sugar bush, a past favourite activity has been maple sugaring. Learning about how maple trees turn water into sap and how humans tap, collect and boil it into syrup. If the weather is right, campers will be part of the Homestead sugar crew!
Nature’s mysteries will be explored, everything from bird watching and listening to their songs, to learning about the white tailed deer, to getting to know about tree species and observing the wildlife around the Homestead.
A fire will be built as a centerpiece for gathering to share stories, warm our bones and snack and lunch. An indoor warming station is available for colder days to warm up, dry off, craft and eat.
2025 activities include:
Exploring the forest
Connecting with the wildlife through identifying wildlife clues, tracking, and checking on trail cams for activity
Sugaring - hanging buckets, collecting sap, boiling sap and making taffy
Making bird feeders
Learning about seeds and planting seedlings and winter tree ID
Campfires and cooking over the fire
Quiet time for crafting (pine cone art, weaving project) and stories
Dress-up, games and lots of free play!
Get in on the fun!
Co-creating and collaboration among kids and the facilitators enable days to be child centred, build self-esteem.
The small group creates an environment where quiet and outgoing kids thrive.
It’s a week to be remembered.
