Do you get satisfaction from learning skills to do things on your own?

This series of workshops was born from community interest in reacquiring and learning skills. The skills were part of a way of life for most of our ancestors only a few generations ago.

Where do we begin?

Coming into relationship with the places we live, work, and play in is our foundation. We tap into our senses, observe, listen, and track the natural cycles and rhythms, and remember we are part of nature - not separate from nature. When we set roots and have a sense of belonging to a place, we tend to it, build relationships of reciprocity, and allow for the learning to unfold with each season.

In a practical sense, the workshops focus on tending to our relationships with plants, understanding their cycles and seasons, and learning how to incorporate them into our every day by creating plant preparations.

Check out the seasonal offerings below.

Since this series was initiated by the community, your input is appreciated! Let us know what homesteader skills interest you and stay in the loop about upcoming workshops.

I was very happy to walk away with an understanding of the foundation of making soap (especially the lye part, which is why I wanted to learn in an in-person setting) and taking some soap home to cut and cure.

I had a good time with everyone. The course was very well presented, you did a wonderful job. I can’t wait to try my soap beginning of April. We’re making shampoo on Sunday.
