Honeybee Homestead

MCDONALDS CORNERS, ON

Saturday, October 25 | 10 am - 4 pm

With the shift in daylight and cooler temperatures, autumn gently invites us to turn inward.

Our bodies, just like nature, crave nourishment to transition from the heat and humidity of summer to the colder, drier seasons ahead.

Rooted Wellness is a hands-on day designed to honor this natural rhythm. You'll learn how we at Honeybee Homestead incorporate both wild and cultivated plants and herbs into our everyday lives through culinary delights and practical preparations.

Our Time Together

This day is a blend of practical skills and a heartfelt connection to our plant allies. For over a decade, we have relied on these plants for nourishment at the Homestead. You'll see demonstrations of how to easily weave them into your daily life and learn lifestyle rituals to support you and your family.

A highlight of your visit will be getting your hands in the soil and your heart connected to the plants. You will create your own herbal preparations to take home and begin your journey. We’ll also share a delicious seasonal lunch, and herbal teas will be available throughout the day.

What You'll Take Away

More than just a day of learning, this day is about setting a foundation for living with the seasons. You'll leave with practical skills and a deeper understanding of how to take your health into your own hands. With your own herbal preparations, and a belly, mind, and soul full of nourishment, you'll have the confidence to begin to weave seasonal living into your everyday long after the day is done.

Join us for a day at the Homestead! It will be a hands-on, inspiring day of learning and connection with plants.

MEET THE FACILITATOR

melissa cornacchia

Hi! I’m Melissa, the Honeybee of the Homestead. My journey as a homesteader, folk herbalist, forager, naturalist and farm hand started 16 years ago. You can find me sipping on herbal teas, adding herbal salts and dried herbs to my meals, and enjoying homemade soap and facial serum made from herbal infused oil. I tend to gardens and visit plant allies in the forest and fields during the growing season. I’m in awe of how generous and forgiving the Plant People are and in reverence for their support and nourishment. I’m stepping into the call to share plant teachings with community.
