Honeybee Homestead

MCDONALDS CORNERS, ON

Saturday, October 25 | 10 am - 4 pm

Can you feel the season shifting — in your body, your cravings, your energy? Are you curious how herbs can support this natural transition?

As daylight shortens and temperatures cool, autumn gently invites us to turn inward and downward. It’s the season of roots — where plants store energy for the winter and offer deep nourishment to our bodies. Just like nature, we crave grounding and nourishment as we shift from summer’s heat and humidity into the colder, drier months.

Rooted Wellness is a hands-on day designed to honor this natural rhythm of the season. At Honeybee Homestead, we’ll share how we use both wild and cultivated herbs in everyday life — through food, simple preparations, and seasonal practices. But herbs are only part of the picture. We’ll also explore lifestyle rhythms and rituals that support the body and spirit through the colder months, taking a truly holistic approach to being well.

It’s for anyone looking to bring herbs into their lives in simple, flavourful, and nourishing ways.

Our Time Together

This day is a blend of practical skills and a heartfelt connection to our plant allies. We’ll share how to simply weave them into your daily life and learn lifestyle rituals to support you and your family.

A highlight of your visit will be getting your hands in the soil and creating your own herbal preparations to take home. A delicious seasonal lunch and herbal teas are included.

What You'll Take Away

More than just a day of learning, this day is about setting a foundation for living with the seasons. You'll leave with practical skills, fresh inspiration, and a deeper understanding of how to take your health into your own hands. You’ll take home a bundle of herbal goodies — like fire cider — nourishing, handmade, and aligned with the season, ready to support your immunity, nourish your body, and flavour your meals.

With your own herbal preparations, and with your belly, mind, and soul nourished, you’ll leave feeling confident to continue weaving seasonal living into your everyday life.

Come ready to immerse yourself in the plants, the land, and the spirit of autumn. We'll offer practical skills, nourishing habits, and inspiration to support you to align with the rhythms of nature.

Join us for a day at the Homestead — a hands-on, heart-centered experience of learning, connection, and seasonal nourishment.

MEET THE FACILITATOR

melissa cornacchia

Hi! I’m Melissa, the Honeybee of the Homestead. My journey as a homesteader, folk herbalist, forager, naturalist and farm hand started 16 years ago. You can find me sipping on herbal teas, adding herbal salts and dried herbs to my meals, and enjoying homemade soap and facial serum. I tend to gardens and visit plant allies in the forest and fields during the growing season. I’m in awe of how generous and forgiving the Plant People are and in reverence for their support and nourishment. I’m excited to share this journey with you!
