“It was such a lovely day! It was rejuvenating and exactly what I needed. If you do more like this, I’m in!

Ready for a day that nourishes your body, soothes your spirit, and awakens your senses?
Take a day for yourself—surrounded by trees, fresh air, and the quiet beauty of the Mississippi River. Join us for a day retreat dedicated to grounding yourself, nourishing your body, and learn an ancient hand craft that'll awaken your senses.
We'll begin the morning with gentle movement and a grounding practice with plants, allowing us to connect with the space and with ourselves. Afterward, you'll have time to relax and reflect, with access to a hot tub and sauna for deep rest and rejuvenation.
A nourishing, seasonal lunch and herbal teas will be provided to keep you warm and nourished from the inside out.
The afternoon will be dedicated to learning the art and craft of making your own bioregional incense with Megan Spencer of The Sacred Gardener. You'll learn how to responsibly source ingredients, how to process and store ingredients and craft incense cones. You'll not only leave with your own creations but also with a deeper understanding of why creating your own incense is a valuable and safer alternative to many commercial products.
Your journey into incense making continues beyond the retreat with a 10-page PDF and a 12-minute video that walk you through every step, from sourcing to crafting.
This retreat is a chance to slow down, connect with nature and community, and leave with handmade incense.
Join us for a day of deep nourishment and creative connection.
“The relaxed atmosphere was exactly what I needed”
Why make your own?
We love incense. Over the years we noticed that we often would get headaches or feel sick after burning incense we bought. We started to wonder if we could make our own. The journey began 15 years ago when we found out that incense often is created outside of safety regulations, because it is not consumed internally. This means that it is not required to disclose things like what the wood base is in your incense (often this is scrap wood, left over from industry which can include pressure treated woods), or how the scents are created (toxic fragrances passed off as 'pure' essential oils).
“I personally enjoyed the full experience, with like minded people and connections to nature and nurturing ourselves in and with nature.
I plan on attending more day programs in the future”
