How does connecting with nature look at the homestead?

We believe hands-on and experiential activities are the gateway to learning and integrating relational skills - with our peers and environment. The focus is on exploring your curiosity and playing with it in tangible and tactile ways - so you walk away with an inner knowing that is connected to your senses.

KIDS: participant-led outdoor nature-based camps and activities.

YOUTH: participant-led outdoor nature-based camps and seasonal series with a focus on skill building and creativity.

ADULTS: the Homesteading Workshop Series facilitates learning skills using the resources found in our local environments.

What’s happening at The Homestead

There is so much I appreciate about the days my son spends at Honeybee Homestead. As a parent (and educator) there is nothing more exciting than to hear about how much he has learned that day including which flowers are edible, how there are various species of foxes and how to care for a caterpillar, to name a few. It is wonderful to see his interests evolve from what he has learned at camp including his new found love of sewing toys for his cats and, trying various tea/tisane with me! ...Highly recommend!

Honeybee Homestead is rooted in nurturing kids’ and families’ connection with the living world through exploration, creativity and play.

Our vision is to live in a world where people build reciprocal relationships with the living world.

We believe that time spent outside, in the elements, in the natural world, is an invitation to nurture our inherent nature to connect with the living world.

We create hands-on playful and interactive experiences to explore, observe, and discover what’s happening in our own backyard.

Opening the door to nature connection, here at Honeybee Homestead, isn't only about learning about the natural world.

It's about meeting every child and adult where they are and seeing how connecting to the natural world makes sense to them.

Come to learn, grow and play with us - all year round - and let’s remember, we are nature too!
